![]() All the hysteria about DeflateGate and apocalyptic blizzards hitting the East Coast has diverted much of the attention traditionally devoted to Super Bowl ads, but that doesn’t mean we're not in for a plethora of shorts from bombastic advertisers determined to stimulate our brains to the point that we’ll go out and buy their products... ...Given that a 30 second ad buy during the game costs $4.5 million, it’s perhaps time to start asking the question of whether these advertisers are getting much bang for their buck by shelling out this type of cash for such brief exposure. The Torrenzano Group estimates that the total cost of such an ad, including production, talent acquisition and promotions, can often top $10 million.
