Meanwhile, branding expert Richard Torrenzano said the NFL remains "in a crisis moment."
"This has been a gut-wrenching issue for American culture," said Torrenzano, whose New York-based firm specializes in reputation and high-stakes issues management. "Men don't beat up women. And men don't beat up children. That's not what we do in this country.
"These are social problems that have been going on for some time. But football commands a huge audience, and with the Internet, everything is instantaneous. Videos go viral. Everyone can see. On these issues, technology is driving the sunlight."
